This station was built by the CPR in 1910 and replaced an earlier station. It was built as one of six mountain stations to fit with CPR marketing of Alberta as a "wilderness tourist destination." It was declared a heritage structure in 1991 and remains in use as a restaurant and for rail travel by the Rocky Mountaineer. The original station, also built of logs, was donated to Calgary's Heritage Park.
